Fang Yisen: The German Education Union has made me see a different world.

Time flies, and I have been in Germany for more than three years. On April 3, 2019, I left the land of Sanqin, where I lived for more than ten years, and came to the place where my dream began: Notheim, Germany.

Very excited to be in Germany for the first time. Think about it, no longer have the constraints of parents, they can live freely according to their own ideas, is not very looking forward to? But the reality gave me a loud slap in the face: if you want to live here, you must not only be able to go to the hall, but also to go down the kitchen. The main thing is to make something edible, which is a big challenge for me.

In the past, around the parents in China, I never knew that behind the clean and decent life, there are so many meticulous and trivial housework. From buying oil, salt, sauce and vinegar to using cleaning and disinfection supplies, I had to learn from scratch. What's more, while taking care of yourself, you can't forget your academic performance.

Next, I would like to share my learning experience in the past three years. First of all, I think learning German in Germany is in the first place. Usually in class, the teacher will speak very quickly and will not take into account the language problems of foreigners. If you let your mind wander a little, it will feel like the whole class is confused. At this time, I have to try to listen to what the teacher is saying, and then ask the teacher questions.

The German classroom is completely different from our classroom in China, where teachers value students' participation in the class. The so-called class participation is to raise your hand to answer the questions asked by the teacher, the more times you answer, the higher the quality, the higher the corresponding oral score (Mundliche Note) will be. Don't underestimate this speaking score! It will be counted as a grade on the diploma along with the written test score. I usually recite ten example sentences every day, translate them into Chinese and write them in the notebook, then write them by myself, and read them a few times, and remember them. I think this habit is quite useful for learning German.

About my daily life: I enjoy the leisurely life in this small town. I used to go to the gym when I was in the mood, but later, I didn't go to the gym much because of the heavy pressure of school work and the objective reason of the epidemic. But when I'm free, I go for a walk in the back hills.

Germany has many school holidays. Holiday, the first thing is to go out on holiday. It's so convenient to live in Germany and travel abroad. So far I've been to France, Spain, the Czech Republic, and some cities in northern Germany. What impressed me most was Paris, France. When I saw the Eiffel Tower, I felt that I had truly arrived in Europe. The food in Paris is also mouth-watering, oysters, foie gras can be tasted all over, can be said to be a foodie's paradise.

There is also Prague Square in the Czech Republic, I remember Jolin Tsai has a song called Prague Square, so I am quite curious about that place. When I came to Prague and saw the square with my own eyes, I felt what was magnificent. Standing in the middle of the square, I felt like I was in the vortex of history and art. Being there is totally different from looking at pictures.

I suggest that students who are coming to Germany do not need to stay at home in their spare time, but can go outside and ask themselves what they like. You can also learn something to enrich your knowledge. The German Education Alliance program allows us to go out and see the world and experience a richer life, and we should seize this opportunity.

In a word, it is better to chase the wind than to wait for it.
