BackHong Yi: The direction of my life has really changed
2024-12-17
Hello, everyone! My name is Hong Yi and I have been in Germany for three years. I remember that May 2019 was the day I went abroad. It was the first time I went abroad alone, and to Germany, which was far from home
The first days in Germany I remember were the most difficult. Because here, unlike in China, I don't have to worry about anything other than my studies. In a foreign country, everyone has to face many problems: housing, settling down, phone cards, and many other things besides study. This puts a really high demand on individual comprehensive ability. Thanks to the help of teachers and classmates from the German Education Union, I quickly adapted to life in Germany. Then it was school day. In the first year, in order to better adapt us to the German teaching and learning methods, the school opened a special Chinese class. This is very helpful to our early learning. Because most of the lessons we didn't understand at first. We can only communicate with each other and help each other after class. Gradually, I began to adapt to this life, and have their own learning methods. According to my personal experience, I would like to emphasize that preview before class and review after class are very important! If you do not preview, most of the content of the class will not be understood. Therefore, in order to better understand the course content, I will ask the teacher for the lecture materials of the next class as much as possible, and then preview it in time.
In this way, the time of one year passed quickly, and my grades were average. At this point, I had to decide whether to go on to high school and then college, or to do a dual education. Both options have good prospects. I prefer to go to college. But I know it's hard to graduate from a university in Germany. So this choice haunted me for a long time. But in the end, I chose to continue my study in high school. I want to have more choices and opportunities in the future.
High school days are not easy. In the second year I had to go to school while doing my internship in the company. I remember that for this internship, I looked for a long time during the summer vacation, and was rejected by many companies. But in the end, I found a good company. This is an online store located in Gottingen, mainly engaged in the sale of imported goods in Germany. The boss was very kind and explained the specific internship content and a lot of knowledge and experience to me in detail. This was something I hadn't experienced in school before. After a year of internship and the curriculum knowledge learned in school, I really feel that I have gained a great harvest in practice and theory, and I can see that I am making solid progress.
Then comes the final year of exam preparation. The course results of this year and the final college entrance examination results will be counted in the results of applying for German universities, so there is really a lot of pressure. The class schedule is full every day. After class, you have to continue to review and learn new content on your own. Of course, the performance in class is also very important. I think I did a good job of that. I almost never asked for leave, went to class even when I wasn't feeling well, and tried to answer as many questions as possible. This is also the best way to improve your regular grades. It wasn't easy, but I persevered and graduated.
Now for me, it really is the rainbow after the storm. I have already received offers from some universities, such as the famous University of Gottingen, Aachen University of Applied Sciences, University of Braunschweig, Cologne University of Applied Sciences, etc. I was faced with a choice again, a happy choice. I thought about where to go to school and what life would be like after that. This is something I could not have imagined when I was in China. The German Education Alliance program has really changed my life. Although it is not easy to go to college, I am still full of confidence, I have met many good friends, I also have the help of teachers, I believe I will successfully graduate from college. Come on!
