Surprise: Work, work! Found you at the last minute

The German school summer term officially ends at the end of July. In other words, if I don't succeed in signing a work contract by the end of July, I should leave Germany. At the end of June, the jury was still out. My heart was in my mouth. I almost gave up and started thinking about packing up and going home. In the German education Union teachers' shouts of "Don't give up", I insisted on applying and continuing

Internship. Finally, on the last Thursday of July, my internship was upgraded to a dual contract. I got a job in Germany! All the hard work paid off and I'm really glad!

Holding the hot job contract, I could not help but recall the scene when I first came to Germany. I remember when I first came to Germany for three months, it was the first long holiday, and I did my first internship in Germany. I wanted to have a good time on vacation, not an internship. But my teacher at the German Education Union suggested that I give it a try, as an internship would improve my German language skills and help me better integrate into German life. I reluctantly agreed. Subsequently, the German Education Union teacher patiently taught me how to make an application letter and resume, and how to deal with an interview. In the end, I was lucky enough to get an internship at REWE supermarket. In this internship, I really learned a lot of knowledge, and my spoken German has also improved significantly.

But a few months after the internship, the epidemic spread in Germany. With the outbreak of the epidemic, the original life has been disrupted. Schools were closed and classes were held at home. Many shops and restaurants were closed. Applying for jobs at this time also becomes more difficult because there are fewer companies offering internships and training positions. I applied to many companies, most of which rejected me because of the pandemic. But the German Education Union teachers never gave up, they always urged us to continue to apply and not to give up because of a little setback.

By this spring, the situation in Germany was much better, and many companies were opening jobs. After applying for internships and training positions with many companies in the metal industry, two companies were finally willing to offer me internships. I finally chose an internship in an industrial manufacturing company with a history of more than 100 years. After one month of internship, I inquired about the company's dual-system position and submitted an application. Eventually, they replied that they were willing to offer me a dual position and signed the contract on the last Thursday of July.

During this one-month internship, I learned a lot. I also mastered the use of many tools, such as how to deal with the surface of metal materials, the steps of disassembly and assembly of parts, and so on. My colleagues in the company are very friendly and they give me a lot of help. When I don't understand a problem, they will explain it to me patiently. During my internship, I always reminded myself to speak more and communicate with them to improve my German. For example, I often ask them "what is the name of this device", "why do they do this" and so on.

It is not easy to successfully find a dual position. I am very grateful to all the teachers of the German Education Union, especially Ms. Wang Yue and Dr. Wang, who have provided me with a lot of useful help at different stages. During the epidemic, they kept encouraging me not to give up, helping me to contact companies and look for possible positions. You can also contact them at any time if you have any questions or difficulties. Whether it is before the interview or during the internship, he would tell me a lot of things to pay attention to, ask me to prepare for the interview questions, and remind me that I must communicate with my colleagues during the internship. They were very concerned about my progress in the internship and kept asking me about my internship, what I learned and so on. In short, now I have a dual contract, and I cannot do without the help and guidance of teachers from the German Education Union.

Life in Germany is very beautiful, I hope the students can get the visa as soon as possible and start living in Germany. Do not forget to learn German, do not give up easily, believe that you can.
